As volunteer vice-president of the Washington-based
Canadian-American Business Council, Judith oversaw the
communications side of an organization with a mandate to
promote cross-border cooperative initiatives. This included
the facilitation of a strategic and communications process
that changed the direction of the organization;
Working at the highest level within a number of companies,
she helped launch several high technology products in the
United States and Canada. This activity emphasized the need
for companies to focus on their product and key target
audiences, while creating and coordinating entire advertising
and media relations campaigns for those launches at major
trade shows;
Judith developed award-winning trade show advertising
campaigns for the Department of Foreign Affairs and
International Trade (DFAIT) which coordinated Canadian
trade delegation overseas;
She conceived and coordinated Hello Neighbor, a business
development initiative in London and Niagara aimed at helping
small businesses to export. The project introduced Canadian
businesses to US and Canadian government trade officials;
promoted a timely evaluation of their product by US officials
and retail professionals; and provided guidance and tools to
those companies to help in their trade efforts.
